Gurdaspur: Car-borne men open fire at NRI's house late night
According to sources, the case is of Extortion

Gurdaspur, February 2, 2024: On the intervening night of December 31 and February 1, some unidentified persons opened fire outside the house of Guri Chahal, a well-known social activist and NRI youth, in village Zafarwal of Dhariwal police station.
As per the information, the shooters came in a white car. The police of Dhariwal police station reached the spot and recovered seven pistol shells from the spot. The police have registered a case under various sections against the unknown car riders in this case. On the other hand, according to sources, the matter is related to Extortion, but the police is still refusing to disclose anything in this matter.
Famous social worker and NRI Guri Chahal's father Harbhajan Singh s/o Nagina Singh resident of Jafarwal told to the police in his statements that his son live abroad with his family. He himself, his wife, a maid and a driver Lovepreet Singh are at home on the night of January 31. After having dinner with his family, he went to sleep in his room.
At around 2 am, the sound of gunshots was heard outside the house. Meanwhile, the driver Lovepreet Singh, who was sleeping in the upper room, woke up and went out of the room to see that unknown persons in a white car were going towards Zafarwal Thokar.
In this regard, SSP Gurdaspur said that the matter is being seriously investigated whether this firing was done due to Extortion or due to any other enmity. The police have got some clues and soon the case will be revealed.
