Nawanshahr, February 20, 2024: Fifteen years ago, the Arya College Institutions bestowed upon the Sareen family the privilege to establish a scholarship in honor of their father, Mangal Sain Sareen. Today, the Sareen Scholarship stands as a testament to their commitment to education and community in Nawanshahr town.
Initiated by their mother, Chand Sareen, alongside her brother, Dr D.P Maini, and the dedicated support of Praveen Sareen, the scholarship embarked on a modest journey.
From its humble origins, catering to around 15 students, the program has flourished, now embracing approximately 40 students across various educational spectrums.
"We are deeply grateful to Arya College Institutions for entrusting us with this endeavor, allowing us to perpetuate the legacy of our family," shared a spokesperson for the Sareen family.
He said the scholarship's reach extends beyond academic boundaries, encompassing postgraduates, graduates, school children, athletes, differently-abled individuals, and more, embodying inclusivity and diversity.
'The Sareen Scholarship Initiative has not only sustained but expanded its impact. This year, the budget for scholarships, gifts, meals, and associated expenses amounts to an estimated Rs 2.75 Lakh. The family envisions an annual increment of 8 to 10 per cent in both budget and scope, aspiring to enrich the lives of more deserving individuals year after year", he added.
