CM kick starts “Khed Maidan, Har Pind Di Pehchan” campaign in Ferozepur
Aims to connect youths with sports to keep them away from drugs
Ferozepur, March 24, 2023: As part of the efforts being made by the state government to create a sports culture in the state and to connect the youth with sports by keeping them away from drugs, Ferozepur district has started the "Kheed Maidan Har Village Di Pehchan" campaign leading for launching across the state. This campaign started by the district administration Ferozepur was launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann through Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer during his visit to Ferozepur.
On the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev yesterday, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a unique campaign of Ferozepur district "Kheed Maidan Har Village Di Idnadhi" at Martyrdom Memorial Hussainiwala yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, giving information about this campaign, said that the Army and BSF are involved in the effort to produce sportsmen for the creation of ‘Rangla Punjab’and to keep children and youth away from drugs and connect them to sports.
He said, another objective of this initiative is to train the youth for Army and Punjab Police recruitment. There are a total of 836 Panchayats in Ferozepur district, out of which playgrounds have been constructed in 64 Panchayats and 514 Panchayats. Elections have been made by voting. Apart from this, out of 258 panchayats none of the panchayats have any land, and the land is being sought in the villages. The four-walls of these playgrounds will be built with local varigties of trees, which will also keep the environment pollution free and clean. To take care of these plants, one Van Mitar will be engaged through MGNREGA for 200 saplings.
DC said, in-principle approval of 200 coaches has been taken from Army and BSF for training children and sports equipment will be provided from DMF, CSR and MP Land Fund. Each playground will have separate toilets, changing rooms and drinking water for boys and girls. Funds for construction of this playground will be arranged from MGNREGA Panchayat Fund, Aspirational District Program and District Mineral Fund.
On this occasion, MLA Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Ferozepur Rural Rajnish Dahiya, Commissioner Ferozepur Division Daljit Mangat, DIG Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DDPO Jaswant Singh Varaich and others were present.
