BSF, AIIMS Bathinda & Swadeshi Jagran Manch join hands for Mega Medical Camp in Hussainiwala
Mega Medical Camp benefits over 500 villagers in Hussainiwala border area
Ferozepur, September 10, 2025: A mega medical camp was organized at village Hazara in the Hussainiwala border region for flood-affected and rural communities under the joint aegis of Swadeshi Jagran Manch, AIIMS Bathinda, and the 155th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF). More than 500 villagers availed themselves of medical services at the camp.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Commandant S. N. Goswami of BSF’s 155th Battalion. The event was attended by BSF officials B. S. Rathore, B. S. Negi, Jaswinder Singh, Principal of Doon Junior School Mrs. Aamna Gupta, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajwinder Kaur, Swadeshi Jagran Manch’s District Patron Dharampal Bansal, State Publicity Head Arun Beri, Department Service Head Naresh, and other dignitaries.
On behalf of the Ferozepur Foundation, Shailendra Shelly and Vivek Malhotra distributed drinking water, sanitary pads, and medical kits among villagers.
Specialist doctors from AIIMS Bathinda and BSF extended their services in ophthalmology, dermatology, orthopedics, gynecology, and other fields. The team included Dr. Sunil Kumar and Dr. Aastha Bedi from BSF, along with Dr. Prakash, Dr. Nikhil, Dr. Gagandeep, Dr. Riya, four interns, and supporting medical staff from AIIMS Bathinda. Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
Commandant Goswami emphasized that BSF, besides participating in relief operations, has been playing a crucial role in safeguarding the health of local villagers during this crisis.
Swadeshi Jagran Manch’s State Publicity Head, Arun Beri, stated that the Manch prioritizes service while promoting the ideals of self-reliance and continues to carry out relief work. He added that dry rations, medicines, mosquito nets, diapers, sanitary pads, clothes, and other essential items have recently been distributed with support from various organizations.
District full-time worker Dr. Tarun Jain expressed gratitude to all supporting institutions for their active contribution in making the camp a success. The mega medical camp not only provided essential healthcare but also showcased a strong example of coordinated social service efforts by multiple institutions.
