District Magistrate Bans Hoarding of Essential Commodities in SAS Nagar

To ensure uninterrupted availability of essential goods and protect public interest, District Magistrate Komal Mittal on Thursday evening imposed a ban on the hoarding of essential commodities across Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district.
Acting under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, and Section 163 of the Bhartiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita Act, 2023, the District Magistrate directed that no individual, trader, or organization shall stockpile essential items such as food grains, fodder, milk and dairy products, petrol, diesel, and other daily necessities.
Authorities have urged citizens to report any incidents of hoarding, black marketing, or price manipulation. Complaints can be lodged through the following contact numbers:
