Efforts Underway to Grant Banur Status of Revenue & Police Sub-Division: MLA Neena Mittal

MLA from Rajpura, Mrs. Neena Mittal, today said that after the inclusion of eight villages adjoining Rajpura (Patiala) into Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar revenue district, her next effort will be to bring Banur area adjoining Patiala Police jurisdiction under Mohali Police jurisdiction.
Addressing officials at a meeting held in the office of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal in Mohali, the MLA said the decision by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to include the eight villages of Rajpura constituency into Mohali revenue district has brought huge relief to local residents.
She informed that in today’s review meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and district administration officers, discussions were held to complete the transfer of revenue records from Patiala to Mohali at the earliest and to reorganize patwar circles and kanungoi in the Banur region. DC Komal Mittal assured that the process of restructuring the required patwar circles and kanungoi units would be completed soon. During the meeting, a proposal to distribute Banur’s 40 villages and 13 municipal wards into 14 patwar circles and 2 kanungoi units was also discussed.
Mittal further said she is making continuous efforts at the Chief Minister’s and DGP’s levels to secure Banur the status of a Revenue Sub-Division and Police Sub-Division, so that residents do not have to travel far for routine administrative and police-related work.
Those present in the meeting included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Gitika Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Sonam Chaudhary; SDM Mohali Damanpreet Kaur; District Revenue Officer Dr. Harminder Singh Hundal; Naib Tehsildar Harjot Singh; DSM Navneet Kaur and other officials.
