Gurdaspur Election Results: AAP’s Harjinder Kaur wins from Bhumbli

Gurdaspur (Punjab), December 17, 2025: Polling for the election of Zila Parishad and Block Samiti members in Punjab villages was held on December 14, and counting of votes began today. In Gurdaspur, the counting process started at 8 am at the School of Eminence, where early trends show the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) taking a clear lead.
From Bhumbli, AAP candidate Harjinder Kaur has secured victory by a margin of nearly 200 votes.
In the Gurdaspur block, elections were held for 21 Block Samiti seats and three Zila Parishad seats. Out of these, 15 members were elected unanimously as there were no opposing candidates. All unanimously elected members belong to the Aam Aadmi Party.
Another AAP candidate has also won, while the fate of the remaining five Block Samiti seats is expected to be decided shortly.
Vote counting for polling held in villages Hallachahia, Babbri, Got Pokhar, Purowal Jattan, and Chaguwal is underway at the School of Eminence, Gurdaspur. Along with these, the results for the three Zila Parishad seats will also be declared from the same venue later today.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place by the police and the district administration. A total of 12 counting tables have been set up inside the counting hall, with representatives of all political parties present. Ballot papers are being counted under strict surveillance, with continuous camera monitoring. CCTV cameras have also been installed outside the premises to ensure security.
The remaining results are expected to be announced shortly.
