Kullu Landslide: 3 more bodies recovered, sent to Srinagar

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), September 7, 2025: Three more bodies were recovered from the debris of the recent landslide in Kullu’s Inner Akhada Bazaar. The remains were transported by road to Chandigarh and from there airlifted to Srinagar.
Deputy Commissioner Torul S. Ravish informed that a total of seven people from Jammu & Kashmir were buried in the landslide that occurred on September 3–4. So far, six bodies have been recovered and sent to Srinagar, while the search for the seventh missing person continues at a war footing with teams from NDRF, SDRF, police, and local administration engaged in rescue operations.
The victims identified and sent back to Kashmir on Saturday include:
- Bakar Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Mir, village Warsan, Tehsil Karalpora, District Kupwara.
- Hussain Lone, son of Sultan Lone, village Guchi Mohalla, Tehsil Kaman, District Ganderbal.
- Tahir Reen Ahmad Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, village Sardaw Talail, Tehsil Badugam Talail, District Bandipora.
Authorities assured that every effort is being made to locate the last missing individual.
