MP Harbhajan Singh distributes electronic wheelchairs to needy on Independence Day

Kapurthala (Punjab), August 15, 2025: Rajya Sabha Member Harbhajan Singh distributed electronic wheelchairs to six underprivileged individuals, funded through his MPLAD (Member of Parliament Local Area Development) scheme, during a heartfelt event at the District Administrative Complex.
Harbhajan Singh stated that providing wheelchairs to those in need on Independence Day was a deeply fulfilling experience. Extending warm Independence Day greetings, he noted that the moment was equally memorable for the beneficiaries.
He reaffirmed his commitment to addressing the needs of people in nearby villages by providing more wheelchairs, ensuring enhanced mobility and independence.
Harbhajan Singh personally interacted with the recipients, wishing them a bright future and sharing fruit baskets to celebrate the spirit of Independence Day. He also reminisced about his personal connection to Kapurthala, sharing fond memories tied to the city.
Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Panchal, representing the district administration, expressed gratitude to S. Harbhajan Singh for his compassionate initiative.The administration honoured him with a framed picture of Sainik School, Kapurthala, and a traditional shawl as a token of appreciation.
The event was attended by SSP Gaurav Toora, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Navneet Kaur Ball, District Programme Officer Rajeev Dhanda, and other officials.
