Naib Tehsildar suspended

Malaud/Ludhiana (Punjab), May 8, 2026: The Punjab Revenue Department has suspended Raghubir Singh with immediate effect following a preliminary probe into allegations of irregular property registrations and violation of jurisdiction rules.
The suspension orders were issued by the Financial Commissioner Revenue after an inquiry reportedly found prima facie substance in allegations that the officer carried out registrations outside his authorised jurisdiction during his posting in Payal.
According to officials, the matter surfaced after a complaint was filed by Maninder Singh, who alleged that Raghubir Singh had violated legal procedures by registering properties beyond his territorial jurisdiction.
Following the departmental investigation, the Additional Chief Secretary ordered the suspension of the Naib Tehsildar, triggering concern within the Revenue Department.
The complainant has also demanded a detailed probe into the alleged disproportionate assets of the suspended officer, asserting that suspension alone would not be sufficient action.
