Trouble Mounts for Majithia: Vigilance approches former ED Deputy Director

Chandigarh, June 27, 2025: The legal troubles for senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia appear to be deepening further.
In a significant development, the Vigilance Bureau has asked former ED Deputy Director Niranjan Singh to assist in the ongoing investigation against Majithia in connection with alleged drug-related offenses.
Niranjan Singh, who played a key role in earlier probes during his Enforcement Directorate tenure, has agreed to cooperate and will appear at the Mohali Vigilance Office tomorrow at 12:30 PM to share relevant information.
This move comes after former DGP Siddharth Chattopadhyaya reportedly provided the Vigilance Bureau with explosive revelations in the same case.
Chattopadhyaya had earlier stated that "power was misused to facilitate the drug trade in Punjab" and called for a strong crackdown on the networks involved.
