Conspiracy to arrest AAP leadership in Gujarat: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi, April 2, 2026: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel seeking time for a meeting in which he says Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann would accompany him.
In his letter he has said, “"...BJP has hatched a conspiracy against the Aam Aadmi Party: to arrest the majority of the party's leaders and workers, thereby ensuring that the Aam Aadmi Party ceases to exist. As part of this conspiracy, the BJP government has arrested more than 160 Aam Aadmi Party workers in Gujarat over the past three months. Continuing this trend, the Gujarat Police yesterday arrested the Aam Aadmi Party's State President in Gujarat, Isudan Gadhvi—only to release him late at night. He had gone to the police station to seek information regarding the ongoing illegal arrests of his party workers. These actions by the Gujarat Police have intensified significantly ahead of the upcoming local body elections in the state. This sends a clear message that the BJP intends to win the local body elections by relying on the power of the police force..."
