Two Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang members held in Hoshiarpur; four pistols seized
Hoshiarpur, November 7, 2025 — The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Punjab, in a joint operation with Hoshiarpur Police, arrested two alleged members of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and recovered four pistols from their possession, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Friday.
The accused were identified as Swinder Singh alias Bodhi and Sukhman alias Jashan, both residents of Kalanaur in Gurdaspur district; police also seized their motorcycle, officials said.
According to the DGP, a preliminary probe indicates the duo was acting on the directions of a foreign handler, identified as Amrit Dalam, and is wanted in a firing at a medical shop in Wadala Bangar, Kalanaur, that targeted Dr. Hari Singh.
Additional DGP (AGTF) Promod Ban said the arrests were made near the T‑Point close to Gurdwara Shri Garna Sahib at village Bodla, Dasuya, by a team led by DSP (AGTF) Jalandhar Range Jatinderjit Singh in coordination with local police.
Hoshiarpur SSP Sandeep Malik said both suspects have prior criminal records, including cases of murder, kidnapping, and child trafficking, adding that further inquiries are underway to map the gang’s forward and backward linkages.
A fresh case has been registered as FIR No. 229 dated November 6, 2025, under Section 25(6) of the Arms Act at Police Station Dasuya, Hoshiarpur, police said.
