VC SBSSU Dr Suresh Sharma leads ‘Green Carnival’; 2000+ youth join PSCST-backed mega event
Ferozepur, 15 April 2026: The Environment Education Programme ‘The Green Carnival’, organized by Mayank Foundation, concluded with great enthusiasm and success at Gandhi Garden, witnessing an overwhelming participation of over 2000 children and youth from across the region.
The grand culmination ceremony was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Chief Guest Dr. Suresh Sharma, Vice chancellor SBS State University along with noted personalities such as Industrialist Sameer Mittal, Educationist Dr. Ragini Gupta, Dr. Sheel Sethi, Dr. Ashwani Kalia, Dr. Jyoti Kalia, Mr. Subodh Kakkar,Dr. Akaash Aggarwal, among other eminent personalities of the region.
The mega event featured a vibrant series of activities including interactive workshops, Master Quiz, Nature Photography Contest, Eco-Fashion Show, Flower Show, and Painting Competition, all aimed at fostering environmental awareness and creativity among young minds.
The event stood as a testament to the unwavering dedication and hard work of the Mayank Foundation team, who left no stone unturned in making ‘The Green Carnival’ a grand and impactful success. Their efforts have significantly contributed to inspiring the younger generation towards environmental responsibility and sustainable living.
The Green Carnival not only celebrated creativity but also ignited a strong sense of environmental consciousness among participants, marking it as a milestone initiative in Ferozepur’s journey towards a greener future.
Project Chairman informed the media that Mayank Foundation successfully secured this prestigious project from the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, with funding support from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. The initiative was designed to actively engage children and youth in meaningful environmental education and awareness activities.
Chief Guest Dr. Suresh Sharma highly appreciated the efforts of Mayank Foundation for providing a meaningful platform to promote Sustainable Development Goals and for spreading awareness about environmental protection in this important border district.
A major highlight of the final day was the Eco-Fashion Show, where tiny tots confidently showcased creative attires made from waste and natural materials, beautifully conveying the message of sustainability. Dr. Etashu Aggarwal, parent of one of the participants, praised the initiative and expressed her willingness to encourage her children to participate in future events as well.
Another unique attraction was the Flower Show, where participants displayed stunning fresh flower arrangements, dry flower compositions, flower rangoli, and miniature gardens, transforming the venue into a vibrant and colorful celebration of nature.
