4-days’ street vendors training under DAY-NULM Scheme concludes at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 14, 2021: 4-days’ Street Vendors Training under under DAY-NULM Scheme under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) Scheme by the team of PGI Chandigarh concluded today in which 160 street vendors participated in four batches. The aim of the training was to put wiser the vendors on the importance of self-hygiene, hygiene, diseases, problems, causes diagnosis and treatment. Apart from this, they were also made aware of the government rules and available bank loans.
During the event, a special ‘nookad’ play was also arranged by the PGI team - consisting of Kamalpreet Kaur, Jasvir Kaur, Rajdeep Singh - for the street vendors who were given thorough information on health, hygiene, corona prevention and hygiene so that not only government instructions are followed rather there is an increase in their economic condition.
Speaking on the occasion, Latif Ahmed, ADC said, Street vending is an integral part of the economic growth process in urban areas and it is a good initiative of the Punjab government to given to street vendors so that they are more conscious about the hygienic conditions also in this hour of need.
Latif Ahmed, ADC and Kulwant Singh Brar, Joint Deputy Director, Local Government distributed the certificates to the street vendors, security equipment kit and honorarium and also honoured the visiting the team on behalf of the district administration.
On this occasion, Gurdas Singh, EO, Sukhpal Singh, SI, Manjit Singh, GI, Gurinder Singh, Jagmeet Kaur and others were also present.
