Gurdaspur, May 28, 2023: Five education department employees have been arrested by vigilance Bureau Punjab in the teaching fellows scam, out of which 3 employees belong to district Gurdaspur. One of these employees, Dharmapal Das, has retired while the other two are still working in department. After being arrested by the Vigilance Bureau, Narendra Sharma Junior Assistant Office District Education Officer Elementary Gurdaspur has been suspended and his headquarters has been made at Sangrur while Mitra Basu Senior Assistant has been made headquarters at Mansa after suspension.
Now, the education department of Punjab on its own has also sought answers from these arrested employees. Director School Education Punjab has issued a charge list to these two clerks and has asked them to respond in writing to the allegations leveled against them within 21 days and has asked them that they accept all or some of the allegations leveled against them or not. If they want to see any document related to the charges against them, they can see it by intimation to the office but non-seeing these documents cannot cause delay in their reply.
It is also written in the letter that if they do not give any reply within the specified time, it will mean that they don't want to say anything to prove themselves innocent and further departmental action will be initiated against them.
On the other hand, information has been received from sources that the Vigilance Bureau may make a new disclosure related to the case on May 29, i.e. tomorrow.
