Training Workshop held for Lok Sabha Elections,
BLOs to set up festive environment at polling booths in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 3, 2024: Now, there will be a festive environment at the polling stations during the upcoming elections as during a training workshop for the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 in Guruharsahai constituency, SDM Gagandeep Singh urged Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to transform polling stations into vibrant hubs by fostering a festive atmosphere.
He said clear guidelines have been issued to staff on duty, emphasizing the provision of clean facilities including toilets, shaded areas, comfortable seating, and cold water to ensure a smooth voting experience. Addressing concerns about low urban voter turnout, special activities under the SVEEP campaign were encouraged to engage voters. Specific initiatives such as wheelchair accessibility for disabled voters, and dedicated queues for first-time and young voters were highlighted to boost participation.
SDM Singh applauded the efforts of BLOs and election staff, stressing the importance of achieving a hundred per cent voter turnout in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, echoing the slogan "Punjab will vote on June 1, 2024."
The event witnessed the presence of key officials including BDPO Prabhadeep Singh, Supdt. Kewal Krishan, SVEEP Coordinator Parvinder Singh Lalchian, EVM Training Nodal Officer Komal Sharma, Sandeep Sharma and others, showcasing a unified effort towards inclusive and celebratory democracy.
