Anandpur Sahib, May 21, 2024: Congress candidate from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Vijay Inder Singla, has highlighted the vast tourism potential for the region, which is already renowned for its religious and cultural significance.
Singla pledged to make Anandpur Sahib constituency a prominent name on the global tourism map, creating numerous employment opportunities in the process through a comprehensive development plan.
Singla stated that he is well-acquainted with all local issues, from illegal mining to the challenges posed by the Swan River, which often causes flooding.
He assured that the river would be properly channelized, and all infrastructural problems, including road construction from Banga to Naina Devi, would be permanently resolved.
Drawing comparisons with his tenure as MP of Sangrur, Singla detailed out his achievements there, including the development of infrastructure, healthcare, and connectivity.
He mentioned the construction of the 300-bedded PGI Hospital at Sangrur, extensive rail and road connectivity projects, the introduction of the Shatabdi Express, and numerous other initiatives. Singla emphasized his commitment to similar transformative projects for Anandpur Sahib.
Singla underscored Anandpur Sahib's historical significance, noting that it was home to two Sikh Gurus, Guru Tegh Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh, who established the Khalsa Panth here in 1699.
He vowed to give the city the recognition it deserves on the international stage and elevate it to new heights in tourism.
