Chandigarh, May 5, 2025 – The Punjab and Haryana High Court today heard arguments in the case filed by the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), with both Punjab and Haryana presenting their respective stands.
Representing Haryana, the state's Advocate General informed the court that over 200 water supply stations in Haryana have dried up, alleging that the Punjab government has stopped the release of Haryana’s share of water.
In response, Punjab maintained that it has already released Haryana’s allotted share of water and stated that no additional water can be provided. Punjab's counsel emphasized that the state’s own farmers also require water for the upcoming paddy sowing season.
The court will continue hearing the matter tomorrow.
