Sirens, Blackout, and Security Drills – Punjab residents, check your district’s timing! When will the blackout happen?

Chandigarh, May 7, 2025:Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Punjab government has announced a major preparedness exercise to test its security measures.
On May 7, a state-wide mock drill will be conducted, which will include sirens alerting citizens to move to safe locations and temporary power cuts in several districts.
The administration has clarified that this mock drill is aimed at keeping the public alert and prepared. Citizens are urged not to panic, cooperate calmly, and follow the instructions of the authorities.
Here’s the complete district-wise schedule for the drills and blackouts:
- Jalandhar: 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Pathankot: 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM
- Mohali: 7:30 PM – 7:40 PM
- Nangal: 8:00 PM – 8:10 PM
- Hoshiarpur: 8:00 PM – 8:10 PM
- Tarn Taran: 9:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Barnala: 8:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Bathinda: 8:00 PM – 8:35 PM
- Gurdaspur: 9:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Batala: 9:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Faridkot: 10:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Firozpur: 9:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- Fazilka: 10:00 PM – 10:30 PM
