Youth Services Dept leads anti-drug drive in Ferozepur Villages
Ferozepur, August 1, 2025: An awareness program were conducted in villages Peer Mohammad (Block Makhu) and Sadhu Wala (Block Zira) as part of an anti-drug campaign, under the tutelage of the Director of the Punjab Youth Services Department. These programs were led by Davinder Singh, Assistant Director of Youth Services, Ferozepur, in collaboration with affiliated youth clubs.
During the campaign, seminars and street plays (nukkad nataks) were organized to educate locals about the harmful effects of drug abuse. Addressing the gatherings, Davinder Singh discussed the rising crime linked to drug use and explained in detail the adverse impact of drugs on individuals and society. He also highlighted the Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to save the youth through district-level awareness drives under the "War Against Drugs" mission and encouraged youngsters to support the cause by joining hands with the department.
Maninder Kaur from CHC Makhu also spoke about the deadly consequences of drugs and shared information about government initiatives aimed at tackling the menace. The street play teams effectively conveyed anti-drug messages, especially targeting youth awareness.
Youth club presidents Gurpreet Singh and Vishal Singh expressed their commitment to implementing government schemes successfully with the support of village panchayats. Amritpal Singh, another speaker, raised concerns over the growing inclination of youth toward drugs and their increasing interest in moving abroad.
Notable individuals and young participants were honoured with mementoes and certificates. The event was efficiently hosted by stage secretary Harsevak Singh, Headmaster.
