Moga (Punjab), August 4, 2025: In a significant political development, district-level Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Harmanjit Singh Brar Didar Wala has resigned from the party, citing strong opposition to the Punjab government’s new land pooling policy.
Brar, who served as the former district president of AAP in Moga and currently holds the post of Chairman of the District Planning Board, announced his resignation through a Facebook post.
He stated that the decision was made in solidarity with the farmers, whose interests he believes are being compromised by the new policy.
“The government's land pooling scheme is against the welfare of the farming community. I cannot remain silent while farmers are pushed to the brink,” Brar wrote, urging the state leadership to withdraw or review the controversial policy.
Brar’s exit marks a major jolt to AAP in the region, especially ahead of the upcoming local body elections. His resignation is expected to intensify the ongoing debate surrounding the policy, which has already drawn criticism from several farmer organizations across Punjab.
