Breaking: Punjab Govt issues helpline number for flood-affected people
Sets Up State-Level Control Room

Chandigarh, August 25, 2025: The Punjab government has announced a dedicated helpline number 0181-2240064 for people affected by floods, assuring that the state is fully prepared to manage the situation.
A state-level flood control room has been established in Jalandhar, with Minister Aman Arora appointed as its in-charge. Deepak Bali, Advisor, Punjab Culture Department, will monitor the situation from the control room along with the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar.
To ensure effective flood management across Punjab, several ministers have been given responsibilities:
- Dr. Balbir Singh, Gurmeet Singh Khudiya, and Barinder Kumar Goyal will oversee the situation statewide.
- Mahinder Bhagat and Hardeep Singh Mundia have been appointed as in-charges for Kapurthala.
- Laljit Singh Bhullar and Harbhajan Singh ETO will monitor Tarn Taran.
- Dr. Baljit Kaur and Tarunpreet Singh will also be responsible for flood relief coordination in affected areas.
The government has appealed to the public to remain calm and assured that timely assistance will be provided through coordinated efforts.
