India Post launches two-month drive to update mobile numbers and email IDs for PLI/RPLI policyholders
Chandigarh, October 21, 2025: The Department of Posts has rolled out a two‑month special campaign from October 16, 2025, to update mobile numbers and email IDs for all active Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) policies, aiming to streamline digital communication and service access for customers.
India Post has urged PLI and RPLI policyholders to keep their contact details current to ensure timely policy communications and seamless use of digital services, including login access to the PLI customer portal for policy management and online premium payments.
With updated mobile and email credentials, policyholders will receive e‑statements, premium due reminders, OTP-based secure access, payment confirmations, and important policy updates directly via SMS and email, improving service reliability and turnaround.
How to update: Policyholders can visit the nearest departmental or branch post office with their policy number and a valid ID proof; once the update is processed, a confirmation SMS or email will be sent to the registered contacts. Frontline post offices have been enabled to handle these updates without the need to route customers to back‑end centers.
How to pay premium online: Use the PLI customer portal via the Customer Login, register or sign in with the updated mobile number or email ID, choose Premium Payment, and follow on‑screen instructions. Payments can be made through UPI, debit card, net banking, and other supported digital modes.
India Post has encouraged all PLI/RPLI customers to update contact details at the earliest to ensure uninterrupted access to digital services, underscoring its commitment to a stronger digital ecosystem and cashless transactions at postal counters.
The Department of Posts reiterated that it continues to take proactive steps to enhance service quality and customer satisfaction through simplified processes, wider digital enablement, and improved communication touchpoints.
