Ferozepur, November 4, 2025: In a sustained drive to curb unauthorised travel, the ticket checking teams of the Ferozepur Division conducted extensive inspections across trains throughout October 2025. During these checks, 41,387 passengers were found travelling without valid or proper tickets, resulting in the recovery of approximately ₹2.82 crore in fines.
This revenue marks a 39% increase compared to the same period last year and 11% higher than the target set by the Railway Headquarters, New Delhi.
In addition to ticket checking, cleanliness drives were also carried out at major railway stations under the division. To maintain hygiene and raise public awareness against littering, 461 passengers were fined over ₹80,000 under the Anti-Littering Act for spreading garbage within station premises.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar stated that the ticket checking campaigns will continue with the twin objectives of improving ticket sales and discouraging ticketless travel. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini commended the dedication and vigilance of the ticket checking staff, emphasising that continuous awareness campaigns are being conducted to ensure passengers follow travel and cleanliness rules.
