Pak Foundation marks Guru Nanak's 556th Anniversary, pushes for teachings in curriculum
Lahore/Ferozepur, November 06, 2025: The Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan hosted a vibrant commemoration of the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji at the Democratic Lawn of the Lahore High Court Bar, presided over by Chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi. The event brought together prominent figures from legal, political, and civil society circles to honour the Sikh founder's universal message of peace, love, and interfaith harmony.
The Foundation is working to prove the innocence of Bhagat Singh in the court of law besides naming Shadman Chowk as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, release of stamp and awarding highest national award.
Among the distinguished guests were patron-in-chief Raja Zulqarnain, former secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association; Ghulamullah Khan Joya Advocate, ex-member of the Supreme Court Bar Executive Committee; Shia Political Party Chairman Naw Bihar Shah; PDP Secretary General Waqar Shah Jangi; PDP Punjab President Shahbaz Rasheed Qureshi; along with Rana Shahid, Khalid Mehmood, Zaman Khan Kakar Advocate, Sibtain Bukhari, Malik Ehtesham-ul-Hassan, Madam Nasreen Khattak Advocate, Noor Muhammad Kasuri, and numerous others.
Speakers paid glowing tributes to Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji as a transformative spiritual leader whose life and teachings continue to inspire religious tolerance, human equality, and brotherhood across divides. Chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi called for the integration of these teachings into Pakistan's national education curriculum to guide future generations toward peace and service to humanity.
The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting ritual and a collective reaffirmation of commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and solidarity in the country.
