Amritsar (Punjab), December 8, 2025: The political heat in Punjab has intensified as Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu made explosive allegations against top leaders of her own party.
Speaking to a news channel on Sunday, she claimed that several senior Punjab Congress leaders are involved in corrupt practices.
Her statements come amid the controversy over her recent remark that "one who gives a suitcase of Rs 500 crore becomes the Chief Minister." Navjot Kaur Sidhu clarified that her comment was twisted and maintained that the Sidhu family does not engage in such practices.
She accused Gurdaspur MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa of having links with gangsters and alleged that party leaders are “destroying the Congress” by selling tickets for money.
She named four senior leaders—Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Charanjit Singh Channi, Partap Singh Bajwa, and Amarinder Singh Raja Warring—as individuals aspiring for the Chief Minister’s post and accused them of secret dealings with opposition parties.
Navjot Kaur Sidhu also alleged that Rs 5 crore each was given to Bajwa and Warring by Tarn Taran Congress candidate Karanbir Singh Burj to secure party tickets.
She urged that any Chief Ministerial candidate must be chosen through consensus and emphasized that the Sidhu family remains committed to the Congress and Punjab, willing to accept decisions agreed upon collectively.
