Punjab Zila Parishad and Block Samiti Results: AAP takes strong lead as counting continues (At 1:30 pm)

Chandigarh, December 17, 2025: The results of the Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections are being declared across Punjab today. According to the information received so far, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken a significant lead in the Block Samiti elections.
Out of a total of 2,838 Block Samiti seats, the Aam Aadmi Party has won 398 seats. The Congress has secured 66 seats, the Shiromani Akali Dal has won 65 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has managed to win one seat. In addition, 41 independent candidates have emerged victorious.
In the Zila Parishad elections, out of a total of 347 seats, 28 candidates from the Aam Aadmi Party have won so far with Congress (08), SAD (04), BJP (0), others (2)
