DLSA Ferozepur Concludes Month-Long ‘Youth Against Drug’ Awareness Campaign
Drive aimed at educating youth on dangers of drug abuse through seminars, street plays and outreach programmes
Ferozepur, January 6, 2026: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ferozepur, on Tuesday concluded its month-long anti-drug awareness campaign titled ‘Youth Against Drug’, which ran from December 6, 2025, to January 6, 2026. The initiative was organised under the directions of the Executive Chairman, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar (Mohali), and guided by Sumit Malhotra, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, Ferozepur.
Coordinated by Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Ferozepur, Ms Anuradha, the campaign featured a series of awareness activities, including seminars, street plays, counselling sessions, door-to-door outreach programmes, and medical camps to highlight the harmful effects of drug abuse. Special awareness videos featuring renowned film actors and lyricists were screened to motivate the youth to steer clear of drugs.
The concluding ceremony was held under the chairmanship of the District & Sessions Judge and saw the presence of judicial officers from the district headquarters, Legal Aid Defence Counsel lawyers, Bar members, panel advocates, Dr Satinder Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, Ferozepur, film actor Harinder Bhullar, para-legal volunteers, Anganwadi and ASHA workers.
Students from Shaheed Gurdas Ram Memorial Government Senior Secondary School (Girls), Zira, delivered speeches and performed a street play emphasising the perils of drug addiction. Certificates and mementoes were distributed to participants and contributors at the end of the event.
Ms Konika Yadav, Panel Advocate, DLSA Ferozepur, anchored the proceedings and provided a detailed overview of the various activities conducted throughout the campaign.
