Breaking Alert: Water Supply Shutdown For Two Days In Chandigarh Due to Pipeline Replacement Work

Chandigarh, January 06, 2026:
The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh hereby informs the general public that a 24-hour shutdown of water supply has been approved from 07.01.2026 to 08.01.2026 due to replacement of a damaged 1000 mm diameter PSC pipeline with an MS pipeline. The work is being carried out to ensure smooth supply of clear water from Water Works Sector 39 to Water Works Sector 52 and Sector 32.
During the shutdown period, there will be no pumping of water to Water Works Sector 52 and partial water supply to Water Works Sector 32. As a result, water supply timings in various parts of the city will be affected as under:

Water supply at low pressure in Sectors 20 C&D, 21 C&D, 31 to 34, 44 to 47, Industrial Area Phase I & II and Ramdarbar *(6:00 PM to 8:00 PM):*

Normal supply in the rest of Chandigarh *(3:30 AM to 9:00 AM)*

Residents are requested to store adequate water in advance and bear with the inconvenience caused due to this essential maintenance work.
