Red Cross IRCA Gurdaspur releases 2026 Calendar to raise awareness against drug abuse

Gurdaspur (Punjab), January 7, 2026: In continuation of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Government of India, the Indian Red Cross Society IRCA, Gurdaspur, released its annual 2026 calendar against drug abuse to further strengthen awareness efforts in the district.
The calendar was formally released by Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur, Sh. Aditya Uppal, at his office in a befitting ceremony. The initiative was undertaken under the guidance of Sh. Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon, Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Gurdaspur, who has been actively leading de-addiction and awareness programmes in the district.
This annual publication has been a regular initiative for the past 15 years, reflecting the sustained commitment of Red Cross IRCA Gurdaspur towards combating drug abuse. The entire cost of printing and publication of the calendar has been generously borne by Hotel RK Regency, Gurdaspur, a contribution widely appreciated as a noble social cause.
The primary objective of publishing the calendar is to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to motivate people, especially the youth, to stay away from narcotics and substance dependence.
Romesh Mahajan, National Awardee, informed that the calendar will be widely distributed across the district. Copies will be made available in school libraries, police stations, hospitals, village community halls, bus stands and railway stations, ensuring maximum outreach among the general public.
