The event beautifully blended Punjabi traditions with a strong message of empowerment, making it a memorable occasion for students, faculty, and staff alike.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Dr. Jagvinder Singh Virk and Dr. Rattandeep Kaur Virk from Australia, who attended the event as Chief Guests. Their presence added global perspective and dignity to the occasion, reinforcing the universal message of equality, empowerment, and respect for daughters across cultures.

Adding a strong humanitarian dimension to the celebration, a donation drive was organised in association with The Great Navbharat Mission Foundation, during which monetary assistance was extended to families from the Mission’s adopted villages, particularly those celebrating the first Lohri of their newborn daughters. This thoughtful initiative aimed to support community welfare, encourage the celebration of girl children, and reaffirm CGC University’s commitment to inclusive growth and social responsibility beyond academics.
