Railway launches CASO to secure railway stations ahead of Republic Day
Ferozepur, January 14, 2026: In a proactive move ahead of Republic Day, railway security forces launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at the Ferozepur Cantt Railway Station today. Acting on the orders of senior GRP officials from Patiala, a joint team comprising the GRP, RPF, and local Sadar Police intensified surveillance across the station premises to preempt any security threats.
The operation, led by GRP SHO Inspector Naveen Kumar, involved a meticulous sweep of all high-traffic zones, including platforms, parking lots, parcel offices, and waiting halls. Security personnel also inspected railway tracks and conducted thorough searches of suspicious baggage and individuals.
Inspector Naveen Kumar confirmed that the CASO was executed to ensure the safety of passengers during the high-alert festive season. No suspicious items or activities were reported during the drive. However, officials stated that "action mode" will remain in effect, with continued patrolling and random checks scheduled across the Ferozepur rail network until the national celebrations conclude.
