Obituary: Punjab IAS Rahul Bhandari bereaved, father R R Bhandari passes away, prayer meet on March 30

Amritsar (Punjab), March 28, 2026: Senior Punjab IAS officer Rahul Bhandari has suffered a personal loss with the demise of his father, Advocate Ramesh Raj Bhandari, who passed away on March 27. A prominent figure in the legal community, Bhandari was also the father-in-law of senior IAS officer Rakhi Gupta Bhandari.
The cremation was performed this afternoon at the cremation ground near Durgiana Temple in Amritsar, attended by family, friends, and members of the administrative fraternity.
The family has informed that the Bhog and Antim Ardas (prayer meeting) will be held on March 30 from 12 noon to 1 pm at Guru Nanak Prakash Gurudwara in Amritsar.
Family sources said relatives, friends and well-wishers have been paying their respects, while condolences continue to pour in from members of the administrative fraternity and civil society.
