Breaking: Bishnoi Gang claimed 1,000 gunmen in threat letter sent to Canadian Police: Report

Ottawa (Canada), May 29, 2026: A shocking claim linked to the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi has surfaced in Canada, where investigators revealed that the criminal network sent a letter to police boasting of having nearly 1,000 members ready to carry out shootings and extortion activities.
As per Global News Report, the disclosure emerged during a deportation hearing in Canada, where Kevin St. Louis testified about the gang’s alleged operations targeting South Asian businesses across multiple provinces.
According to investigators, the letter was sent to a police station in Abbotsford, British Columbia, in August 2025. The communication allegedly outlined the gang’s criminal network and warned that businesses were expected to pay “tax” to avoid violent attacks.
Paul Walker confirmed that the letter was received and said details were shared with law enforcement agencies investigating the extortion crisis across Canada.
Police alleged that extortion demands were often made through WhatsApp calls in the names of Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. Investigators also identified Jora Sidhu as a key figure allegedly involved in handling communications linked to extortion threats.
Canadian authorities said the gang has been connected to shootings targeting homes and businesses in provinces including British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. Police further claimed that many individuals allegedly involved in the operations were temporary foreign workers or international students who had recently arrived in Canada.
The case surfaced during proceedings involving Jashandeep Singh, who is facing deportation proceedings over alleged links to extortion-related violence.
Canada had designated the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as a terrorist entity last year amid growing concerns over organised crime and extortion activities targeting the South Asian community.
