Chandigarh/New Delhi, May 31, 2026: Member Parliament from Anandpur Sahib Malvinder Singh Kang reviewed country’s preparedness in meeting future fertilizer and agricultural input requirements.
In a tweet he disclosed, “I had the distinct privilege of presiding over the meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemicals & Fertilizers during our study visit to Srinagar and Gulmarg, serving as Acting Chairman while our esteemed Chairman, Shri Kirti Azad Ji, was recuperating from a spell of ill health.
A comprehensive review was undertaken with senior officers of the Government of India, officials of the Ministry, and industry stakeholders to assess the nation's preparedness in meeting future fertilizer and agricultural input requirements. Particular emphasis was laid on anticipating emerging challenges, strengthening supply-chain resilience, and ensuring that India remains fully equipped to prevent any shortage of fertilizers and essential agricultural inputs in the years ahead.
In agriculture, preparedness is policy in action. Timely planning, coordinated execution, and foresight today are indispensable to safeguarding the interests of our farmers and reinforcing the nation's long-term food security.”
