Association warns booksellers selling duplicate books and photocopied one will be boycotted and legal action will be initiated against them: Balwant Sharma
Jalandhar, December 07, 2019: The Punjab Publishers Association unanimously elected Balwant Sharma, Executive Director of MBD Group as their President at a meeting held in Jalandhar. The previous management of the association was suspended and elections were organised to elect the new management. The publishers from whole state participated to cast their vote and the few who were not able to attend it had sent their consent to elect Balwant Sharma as the President of the Association.
Executive Director of MBD Group, Balwant Sharma elated over his selection as President of publishers association said, “The new body of office bearers will be appointed soon so that association can function in smooth manner and all the issues of publishers of state can be resolved with top priority." He said that he owe his selection as President to founder of MBD group Shri Ashok Malhotra and also thanked Chariperson of MBD Group Satish Bala Malhotra, Managing Director of MBD group Monica Malhotra Kandhari and Joint Managing Director of MBD group, Sonica Malhotra Kandhari for their best wishes on his appointment as President of publishers association of the state.
Balwant Sharma said the priority of the association will be to keep the tab on booksellers who sell duplicate books and indulge in photo copying of whole book and sell it by using unfair means. He said association with boycott bookseller using unfair means and will take necessary legal action against bookseller. He thanked all the publishers for showing faith and trust in him for the position of President for the association.
Among those publishers who were present at the meeting were Modern Publishers, Pardeep Publications, Neelam Publishers, Raj Publishers, Krishna Brothers, S Vinesh and Co, AP Publishers, Unimax Publications, Sharma Publications, Classic Publications, Jyoti Book Depot, Dinesh Publications Pvt Ltd and VK Publications Haryana.
