27-year-old Punjabi woman murdered in Canada; Police hunt for suspect

Ontario (Canada), October 26, 2025: In a shocking incident, Amanpreet Kaur, a 27-year-old woman from Sangrur, Punjab, was found murdered in Ontario, Canada, earlier this week. The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) has issued an arrest warrant for Manpreet Singh, who has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the case.
Police discovered Amanpreet’s body on October 21 at Charles Daly Park in the town of Lincoln, Ontario. Investigators said her body bore serious injury marks, indicating a violent assault.
As per BBC news report, authorities have launched an international search and are working with immigration agencies to trace his whereabouts. Amanpreet Kaur, originally from Sangrur district, had moved to Canada in 2021 and was working at a hospital. Her family in Punjab described her as a hardworking and kind-hearted young woman who had recently applied for permanent residency (PR) and was planning to visit home soon.
The Niagara Regional Police have urged anyone with information about Manpreet Singh’s whereabouts to come forward, as the investigation continues in collaboration with Canadian federal authorities and Interpol.
