Surrey, Vancouver, Canada, September 23, 2025 – B S Sandhu, former senior IRS officer, who served both the Punjab and Central Government in various capacities for 37 years, recently attended the First Responders Gala Dinner 2025 in Surrey, Vancouver, organized by the Dwivedi Foundation on September 17, 2025.

The gala honoured the work of first responders, including firefighters, ambulance and paramedic staff, and police officers from the Greater Vancouver Area. The chief guest for the ceremony was Baltej Singh Dhillon, a former RCMP officer and the first turbaned officer in 1991, who now serves as an independent Senator representing British Columbia in the Canadian Senate.

During the ceremony, prominent personnel including Jacquelyn Mula, Corporal of the Major Crime Unit, New Westminster Police, Ray Gardner, Staff Sergeant, Vancouver Police, and Colin Watson, Chief of Police, Abbotsford Police, were recognized for their outstanding service. The event featured a spectacular piping performance by the Surrey Police Band, which also escorted Senator Dhillon into the auditorium.

B S Sandhu was seen interacting with key dignitaries, including a photograph with Chief Colin Watson and host Shanjeelin Dwivedi, co-founder of the Dwivedi Foundation. The visit forms part of Sandhu’s international trip covering the UK and North America.
