Mayank Foundation launches campaign ‘Each One-Plant One’ to boost environment
Ferozepur, June 5, 2020: Taking a cue from the Punjab education department iconic campaign ‘Each one bring one’ to enhance enrolment in the government schools in the state, a social welfare organization, Mayank Foundation launched ‘Each one Plant one’, a drive to plant more saplings to boost environment on the World Environment Day here on Friday.
The campaign was kick-started in cooperation with the district administration at an event held at Dass and Brown World School. Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh formally launched the posters of the campaign. Speaking on the occasion, he hailed the initiative taken by the foundation for the green cause. It is the responsibility of every citizen to work for the protection of a degrading environment. Planting more and more saplings is the need of the hour. All of us should support this unique initiative of the foundation, he added.
President of the foundation, Anirudh Gupta while divulging in detail about the campaign said the green drive is a staple campaign that is run with sheer dedication at regular intervals by the organization. On the pattern of 550 saplings that were planted on the occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, we have decided to plant 2020 saplings in the year 2020 at various public places of the town under this drive of ‘Each one Plant one’
Notably, a mobile app Mayank Foundation has also been devised to connect with the people. After registering themselves, the mobile phone users are accessed to the page of ‘Each one, Plant one’ campaign. Dr. Gazalpreet Singh, Vipul Narang, Charanjit Singh and Rohit Garg of the foundation informed that various platforms of social media like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram and Telegram will be brought in use to reach out more and more people.
DC was flanked by SDM Amit Gupta, District Forest Officer Kanwar Deep Singh, Secretary of Red Cross Ferozepur Ashok Behal, District Sports Officer Sunil Sharma and Deputy Education Officer Komal Arora while displaying the slogan of the green campaign. Sohan Singh, Ashwani Sharma, Deepak Narula, Subodh Kakkar, Vikas Gupta, Anil Arora, Abhay Dhawan, Karan Puggal, Aseem Aggarwal, Navbir Dhillon, Lalit Kumar, Mohinder Pal, Principal Dr. Satinder Singh and the prominent members of various leading welfare organizations were also present during the occasion.
