Nine Cases registered, 2540 liters Lahan, 75 bottles of illicit liquor recovered and Two Arrested-SSP Duggal
Patiala, August 03, 2020: Patiala Police Continued crusade against Illicit liquor trade for third consecutive day.
Divulging the details, SSP Patiala Mr. Vikram Jeet Duggal said that today Nine cases have been registered besides recovery of a total of 2540 liters of Lahan and 75 bottles of illicit liquor. Similarly Two persons have been arrested while 10 persons who are at large, would also be arrested soon.
During operation against Illicit liquor smugglers/traders that was led by SP (Investigation) Harmeet Singh Hundal and DSP Mr. K.K. Panthey with teams from Kheri Gandhia and Ghanour Police stations, raid was condicted near the Ghaggar river and arrested Surjit Singh son of Didar Singh from village Kamalpur Dera and recovered 500 liters of Lahan and 15 liters of illicit liquor from him. A case was registered against him at Ghanour police station.
Mr. Duggal further said that similarly the police of Julka police station conducted a raid and recovered 200 liters of liquor from Balwant Singh resident of Dera Brahmpura. Apart from that, the police of Pasiana police station recovered 45 bottles of illicit liquor from Mani Singh resident of Fatehpur. Meanwhile, Samana Sadar Police Station seized a working kiln from village Marori and recovered 400 litres of Lahan. Similarly, the CIA Samana police recovered 620 liters of Lahan and 15 bottles of illicit liquor from Kuka village while accused Hardeep Singh, Davinder Singh, Satnam Singh and Jaswinder Singh managed to escape after seeing the police.
Cases have been registered against the accused under various sections including the Excise Act. During the raids, police and CIA personnel from the concerned police stations were also present.
