Chandigarh January 21, 2019: Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh interacted with around 60 students of M.Sc. 3rd Semester
from University of Kashmir, Srinagar, J&K who are attending hands on training Programme on Sophisticated Analytical Instruments installed at SAIF/CIL facility at PU.
PU VC while interacting with students welcomed them and described the rationale and vision behind inviting the students from far off places. He was in all praise for the efforts of Prof S.K.Mehta, Director SAIF/CIL and articulated that more such visits will be arranged under his dynamic leadership for the benefit of young researchers. He motivated the students for constructive feedback related to the training programme and encouraged them to bring out innovative research ideas from research labs to affordable and economicCal viable end-products useful for society and for human mankind in large.
He emphasized that the students should make best use of the facility available at Panjab University and propagate it in remote areas of J&K and Leh Ladakh, especially for those students who are deprived of exposure to such type of state-of-the-art facility. Further he suggested that in future such type of special training programmes will also be imparted to the students and researchers from North-East States, Uttrakhand, Gujarat and backward areas of
Rajasthan.
Prof S.K.Mehta, Director SAIF/CIL informed that the objective is to visit department of SAIF/CIL, Panjab University for workshop and training on sophisticated instruments. They are trained extensively by faculty and Technical Staff of SAIF/CIL.
