November.18, 2019: The Rural Development Officer's and Employees belonging to Patiala Division consisting of eight districts have withdraw their ongoing pen down strike and resumed the work, as the Rural Development Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa made a truce between the Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill and the Officers and Employees of the department led by Jagwinderjit Singh Sandhu ADC(D) today.
It is worth mentioning that on last Thursday aall the Officers of Rural Development working in Patiala had gone on indefinite pen down strike in protest against the alleged unparliamentarily language used by the Deputy Commissioner Amrit Kaur Gill towards the officers and employees of rural development department and threatened them. The Govt. had deputed Deepinder Singh Commissioner Patiala Division to resolve the issue, but he failed and the Minister had to intervene. He had called both the factions today at his residence to resolve the issue.
The sources told that the meeting was held in cordial manner and the misunderstanding between both DC and ADC (D) was cleared and both the officers assured each other they will co-operate with each other and work together as a team for the welfare of the people. The Officers of Rural Development department assured DC that they will abide by her orders and she will not face any difficulty.
When contacted Amrit Kaur Gill DC, she said that all the misunderstandings have been cleared during a meeting presided over by the Minister and all the officers will work as a team to implement the public oriented policies of Govt.
