Fatehgarh Sahib. April 06, 2020: The district police and civil administration accompanied by the health department today sealed nearby villages Sanipur, Khoje Majra, Sanghol town and Manaili and other adjoining villages as soon as the news break out that Cronavirus has also struck in Fatehgarh Sahib district as two women activist of Tablighi Jaamaat, who along with nine other Tablighi Jaamaat activists were reported to be COVID positive. These two women along with nine other Jamaati activists had stayed in these villages directly coming from Delhi event and presently were isolated at civil hospital Khamano. The health department workers are carrying out door to door checking in these villages and have quarantined the houses where these Jamattis stayed. Sources told that these Jamaatis came in contact with more than 200 people in the district.
Dr. N.K.aggarwal Civil Surgeon said that the throat sample of all the 30 Tablighi Jaamaat activists, who are hospital isolated in the district were taken, the reports of these two women activists are reported as Corona positive, whereas others have been found negative. He said these two women were isolated at Khamano hospital along with nine others. He said these have been admitted to Gian Sagar hospital Dera Bassi, which has been allotted to the district for treating Corona patients.
He said that these two women belong to Aurangabad in Maharashtra and after attending the event at Nizzamudin these two along with 30 other Jaamatis came to Fatehgarh Sahib. He said before reaching Manaili village in Khamano sub division of the district these two along with other 11 Jamaatis remained at village Sanipur near Sirhind town and then travelled to Sanghol village in Khamano sub division and remained there from 17th to 21st March and then moved to nearby village Manaili. He said on 3rd April the health department got the information from intelligence that 11 Jaamatis are staying in Masjid at village Manaili in Khamano sub division. He said they were isolated at civil hospital Khamano and their throat samples were taken. He said last night department got the report that two women Jaamatis are positive, whereas rest are negative. He said at 1AM they were immediately shifted to Gian Sagar Hospital in Dera Bassi.
