Jalandhar, August 11, 2020: As many as 1562 needy people are set to get their own Pucca houses soon in Jalandhar with the district administration pushing the executing agencies to complete the construction work of the houses at the earliest.
Divulging the details, The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the district administration will build 1562 pucca houses in Jalandhar in the coming months.
He said that the administration had already constructed 229 pucca houses and 334 pucca houses in Jalandhar under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Urban and Rural respectively.
Thori added that under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Urban, a number of Rs 1.50 lakh is being given for the construction of a house in four installments including Rs 50000 as first installment, Rs 50000 as second payment, Rs 20000 as third and Rs 30000 as the fourth installment. He revealed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Urban, the third installment has been provided to 296 beneficiaries and 866 beneficiaries have also received the second installment till to date.
Thori stated that Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna Rural, an amount of Rs 1.20 lakh is being given for the construction of a house in three installments including the first installment of Rs. 30000 and second of Rs. 72000 and Rs 18000 as the third installment.
The Deputy Commissioner told that the directions have been issued to the officials to ensure the work completes within a stipulated timeline to benefit the people. He further said that topmost priority is being given to ensure housing for every needy person.
