Nawanshahr, April 22, 2018: District SBS Nagar mandis have recorded an arrival of 117704 MT so far, out of which 115075 MT wheat have been procured by the various agencies.
Giving the details, here today, deputy commissioner, Amit Kumar said that today, the day's arrival was recorded as 17595 MT while purchase as 22596 MT. Apart from that with the today's lifting of 11555 MT grains, the lifting figure has risen to 46161, by adding that all the agencies have been directed to speed up the lifting in the wake of season at it's peak. Similarly, an amount of Rs. 110 Crore against the total purchase of Rs. 199, has also been released. To meet the gap between the payment and purchase, procurement agencies have been asked to make the bill online, on daily basis, he further added. Today, a total of Rs. 12.31 Crore bills have been made online.
To keep the procurement operation smooth, all the senior functionaries of district adminstration have been put on job to visit the mandis on alternate days, he said. So far, half of the expected quantity of grain have been procured and it will some 10 days more to complete the expected arrival, said DC Amit Kumar.
Giving the agency wise procurement details, he said that Pungrain had procured 17830 MT, Markfed 23490 MT, Punsup 27310 MT, Punjab Warehouse 15720 MT, Punjab Agro 14280 MT and FCI 19090 MT, besides 4 MT by private traders.
