DC directs officials to start awareness drive about camp

JALANDHAR, November 19: With an aim to provide the benefits of various pro-people government schemes to the people at their doorsteps, the district administration would hold a mega camp under Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY) program in Beas village of the district on November 21.
Holding a meeting with heads of various government departments in district administrative complex, the deputy commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma said that Punjab Education Minister Mr OP Soni would preside over the camp.
He asked the key departments including social security, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, food supply, child and women development, agriculture, health, PSPCL, education, Panchayat and rural development, water supply and sanitation, Labour, industry, Cooperative, Employment Generation, Cooperative, Employment Generation, Lead Bank, and others to set up their own stalls during the camp to facilitate the people.
Mr Sharma said that each booth must have larger size banner highlighting the department's name and its schemes so that participants can easily recognize them.
The deputy commissioner directed the officials to start creating awareness about the camp in all the blocks through public address systems to ensure maximum participation of the people.
He added that the camp is aimed at ensuring that people were able to avail the benefits of pro-people schemes under the scheme at their doorsteps under a single roof so that they don’t suffer in the government offices.
Deputy Commissioner exhorted the officials to make these camps huge success in the state by giving benefits to maximum people.
