Led by DC the District Cultural & Literary Society Virsa Vihar gives green signal for the renovation of Auditorium on Ultra Modern Lines

Jalandhar, November 25, 2019: In a bid to promote socio-cultural activities in Virsa Vihar, the District Cultural and Literary Society of the Virsa Vihar today gave green signal for renovation of an auditorium on the first floor on ultra-modern lines.
A decision to this effect was taken by the society in its meeting held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma at the Virsa Vihar.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner underscored the need for optimum utilization of the resources available in Virsa Vihar to promote socio-cultural activities in this place. He said that the 100 seated auditorium on the first floor should be further spruced up to ensure that it was used for the social and cultural gatherings. Mr. Sharma said that meticulous planning should be done for this purpose to ensure that state-of the art auditorium was built up at this place.
The Deputy Commissioner said that besides having permanent seats on a slope in the auditorium there should be elaborate arrangements for lightening and soundproofing so that this place could be utilized aptly. He also said that renovation must be done on ultra-modern lines so that auditorium emerges as an asset for the entire city especially for the organizers of socio-cultural events. Sharma said that the work must be started at the earliest for its timely completion.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that Virsa Vihar would be developed as a hub of the cultural activity in the region. He said that administration was chalking out a blueprint in this regard to ensure the Virsa Vihar could act as a catalyst for apprising our youngsters about the rich cultural heritage of the state. Sharma said that no stone would be left unturned for developing this place as a socio-cultural epi-centre of the region.
Prominent amongst present on the occasion included Office Secretary of the society Captain Inderjeet Singh Dhami, District Head GoG Major General (Retd) Balwinder Singh, Principal APJ College Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Dr Inderjeet Singh, veteran journalist Deepak Jalandhari and others.
