Four teams from CGC Landran qualify for Smart India Hackathon 2024, Grand Finale

Chandigarh, December 10, 2024: Achieving a notable milestone, four teams from CGC Landran namely, Team Code Crusher, Team Kalki Coders, Team Innovate'X, Team Rudraksha , have been selected to compete in the Grand Finale of the 7th edition of Smart India Hackathon, (SIH) 2024. , a national-level competition, to be held on December 11 and 12, 2024, at 51 centres, pan India.
These talented CGCians from Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Computer Science Engineering (CSE) streams, will be competing in this leading nationwide initiative to develop and showcase their creative solutions to problem statements given by Department of Science and Technology, AICTE, MIC-Student Innovation, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Godrej Appliances.
Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the four teams.
They expressed immense pride in the students' hard work and unique solutions ideated for the problem statements given to them. While team Kalki Coders and team Code Crusher will be representing CGC Landran in the Software Edition of SIH 2024, Team Innovate'X and Rudraksha will prove their mettle in the Hardware edition.
Led by Prithvi Kapila (CSE) team Kalki Coders has Pranav Singla, Nikhil Upadhyay, Sehaj Walia, Nishka and Priya Kamboj, as team members.
Their problem statement given to them by Godrej Appliances, requires them to innovate for sustainability; Driving Smart Resources Conservation (Energy and Water) in home appliances like refrigerators, air conditioner etc. team Code Crusher , led by Piyush Gupta (CSE) and team members Prachi, Rahul Sharma, Prerna Jain, Priyanshu Chauhan and Ritvik Bhutani, will be working on a problem statement from AICTE and Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC)-Student Innovation.
They will be showcasing their idea prowess by devising a solution that can boost the tourism industry particularly in hotels and travel. Led by Kunal Dhar (ECE), team Innovate'X with team members, Abhay Patel, Ishita Rawat, Ekta Sandhu and Aparna Kumari, will focus on creating a wearable, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered sensor for prevention of falls in elderly people. , a problem statement given to them by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and NIEPID.
Team Rudraksha led by Rohit Singh (ME), with Piyush K Bharwal, Shivam Pandey, Abhinav Kumar, Ankita Thakur and Ananyaa Kumari Jha, as team members will be developing an innovative design for flushing systems in Western-style toilets for public usage.
Designed to promote out-of-the-box thinking among young minds, particularly engineering students from across India, SIH seeks to address pressing problems faced by government departments and private organizations, through innovative solutions developed by students.
It is acclaimed to be the world's biggest open innovation model and is held in two formats i.e. SIH Software and SIH Hardware editions.
