Indian Army organizes special program on 'Operation Sindoor' at Punjabi University

Patiala (Punjab), August 9, 2025: A special program on 'Operation Sindoor' was organized yesterday at Punjabi University by representatives of the Indian Army as part of their special outreach initiative.
The program, held in collaboration with the university’s Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, featured Brigadier Piyush Babbarwal, who provided fact-based insights into various aspects of 'Operation Sindoor.'
During his PowerPoint presentation, he explained how 'Operation Sindoor' came into existence, the challenges and threats that necessitated it, the strategies devised for its success, and how enemy targets were identified and neutralized to achieve success.
He emphasized that the Indian Army is one of the most capable forces globally, always prepared to handle any situation with competence and strategic acumen.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh, in his presidential address, stated that in today’s era of information overload, misinformation and false narratives often create confusion.
In such a scenario, providing youth with accurate, fact-based information about significant operations like 'Operation Sindoor' is crucial. He lauded the Indian Army’s outreach program as a commendable initiative in this regard.
The program was moderated by Professor Umrao Singh, Head of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, who shared valuable insights on defence and strategic policies. He also highlighted various activities conducted by the department.
